Public consultation on the Draft River Basin Management Plan for Ireland 2018 – 2021 was delivered via 124 local meetings between February and August 2017. These meetings were facilitated by your local Community Water Officer to provide information on the draft plan and to open public conversations on local streams, wells, rivers, lakes, estuaries and coastal areas.
A submission form was provided at those meetings and it was also made available online. This form asked for comments on issues, interests and concerns relating to local water bodies. A total of 956 submissions were received by this office and issues discussed at the meetings were documented on the night. All this information was subsequently analysed. A report on the findings is now available for your viewing. This report combines three separate reports:
• Report on analysis of submissions received
• Report on analysis of meeting notes
• Report on analysis of SWOT meeting notes
As you provided your contact details we are now keeping you informed. Your participation is important to the protection and conservation of our natural waters. Thank you.
