Online Community Information meeting for the Suck Catchment

This online community information meeting is about water quality in the rivers of the Suck Catchment. Usually we hold face-to-face meetings with the local community to talk about water quality in their catchment and explain our work however to comply with Covid-19 restrictions, this Community Information Meeting will need to be held via Zoom.

The Local Authority Water Programme (LAWPRO) will present information on the Suck Catchment and its work plans for the local area for the year ahead . This is a new way of working to improve water quality and everyone can play their part.

The area we will be working in includes the following rivers; the Ballyglass River, Killeglan River, Ahascragh River, Deerpark River, Culliaghbeg River and the River Suck.

The Ballyglass River covers the townlands of Ballyglass to the West, Curry to the East, Carrowntlieve and Dysart to the North and Milltown to the South.

The Killeglan River covers the townlands of Porteen and Ballyrevagh to the North West, Tawnagh in the North East, Knock in the South West and Taghmaconnell in the South East

The Ahascragh River covers the townlands of Eskerballycahill to the North, the Cloonbrook Demense to the West, Ahascragh Village and Kilglass to the East and
Lowville to the South.

The Deerpark River covers the townlands of Cloonigny and Killure More to the North, Trust and Ballynabanaba to the West, Kilcloony, Deerpark and Garbally Demesne to the East and Kilmalaw to the South.

The Culliaghbeg river covers the townlands of Kilbegly in the North, Culliaghbeg and Culliaghmore to the West, Curraghagower to the East and Cloonfad to the South.

The section of the River Suck within our area includes the townlands of Creggaun and Culliagharny to the North and Ballinasloe Town, Pollboy and Beagh Brabazon townlands to the South.
